My speaking service for Public Speaking was volunteering for Service Activities as a Coordinator. I coordinated over six managers and their three programs. I held weekly meetings with the managers and led many of the activity meetings. I spent a lot of time planning impomptu speeches and speaking to the managers; as well as the volunteers.
This speaking service really taught me the power a person has when using your words to lead. Whenever problems occurred, I had to find a way to communicate this problem in a professional manner. Whenever credit was meant to be given, I was able to let others know when they did something well. It was a great way to improve my speaking abilities in a work setting. I was able to put the skills I was learning in the Public Speaking class and practiced them in Service Activities.
